12. 12월 21일(주일) ‘정직하게 말하여도 지킬 것이 있다’  욥 33:1-13

본문 관찰과 묵상

     엘리후는 욥의 이름을 부르며 자신의 정직함으로 욥에게 말하였다.  욥의 말을 듣고 엘리후는 욥이 의롭지 못하다고 정직하게 말하였다.  하나님이 기도에 응답이 없다고 사람이 하나님께 논쟁하는 것은 옳지 못하다 하였다.   

QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성

      엘리후도 나름대로 정직하게 말하였다.  욥이 하나님 앞에 의롭다고 하는 것이 옳지 못한 것 이라고 직선적으로 말하였다.  그러나 엘리후도 다른 3친구처럼 고난가운데 있는 욥에게 위로의 말 대신 정죄의 말만 하였다.        

결단과 적용

     내가 아무리 옳은 말을 하려고 하여도 먼저 그 사람이 겪고 있는 고난의 문제에 관심을 갖지 않으면 그에게 아무런 유익이 없다.  나의 입에서 나오는 말이 유익한 말이 되기 원한다.‘즐거워 하는 자들과 함께 즐거워하고 슬퍼하는 자들과 함께 슬퍼하라’(롬 12:15). 살리는 말을 하며 살겠다.   

12. Dec 12 (Sun) QT  ‘I must keep the basic courtesy even when I speak

      with honesty’      Job. 33:1-13

Observation and meditation on the text

     Elihu spoke to Job with honesty as he called Job’s name kindly.  Elihu was honest enough to say Job that he was not right upon hearing from Job.  Elihu spoke to Job that it was not right for him to argue against God even though there was no answer from God to his prayers.

I hear the voice of the Lord through QT

     Elihu was honest.  He directly spoke to Job that it was not right for him to speak to God in his own self-righteousness.   However, like other 3 friends of Job, Elihu also did not try to identify himself with Job in his sufferings with compassion but only to judge him.      

Decisions and applications

     It will be vain for me even though I do my best to help others by giving them the right answers only unless I show my genuine concern on their sufferings.   I hope my words from my lips will be a beneficial remarks to people.  ‘Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn’ (Rom. 12:15).  I will speak words which will revive people.
